Summer is finally here, and Canada Day is fast approaching, so as proud members of likely the nicest country in the world, it’s only right that it’s time to plan a celebration! But what’s the most Canadian way to celebrate Canada Day? Well we did some digging and here are the ideas that appealed most to us (and we’ll let you use them)!

Get Set For A Party
Starting from how you decorate your home’s facade. Proudly show your Canadian pride, and say a “Happy Birthday” by flying a Canadian flag in front of your house. The first steps to throwing a party are decoration, right? So this sounds like a great place to start. There are a couple rules to consider to make sure it’s done with dignity, but it shouldn’t be too hard :)
Now that we have the basics down, let’s move beyond the front door...there are so decoration options here! Whether you’re going for flowers or streamers, candles or literally anything else, just keep in mind that red and white are the season’s colours. Wherever you go in your home just make sure it screams Canada at the top of its lungs.
Food Is Where It’s At
Now we come to the part where it really counts, and if the calender says July 1, you betcha that everything on that table better scream Canada! With a Caesar and Molson Canadian in hand(s) (today we double fist) it’s time to celebrate like a real Canadian! We think it’s only appropriate that the table is flowing with maple syrup, stocked up on ketchup chips, and at the center of it, a load of poutine! Don’t forget the trimmings of Tim Hortons and Beavertails :)
Once we have the whole meal, all that remains is a crowd please, home-baked dessert! And what sounds better than Maple Shortbread and Red Velvet Blondies, eh? Lucky for you, all the baking skills come prepackaged in the kit well, so in classic Canadian style, we got you!

Canadian Activities
If you’ve got this far, this is where it gets real easy! With Canada, you don’t even need to find activities to celebrate, they come included with your stay here. No doubt the simplest options manifest themselves in the beautiful nature found just outside our doors...and don’t forget to wish the moose a Happy Canada Day when you see her :) We’re definitely planning to do some local exploring ourselves! We’re excited that Point Pelee has finally defrosted and we can’t say no to a wine tour too! If you wanna see what else we may be thinking, you can probably find it here!
Now if you’re looking for an even more relaxing time, then grabbing a beer with friends, and maybe some backyard games, eh? Sure sounds like a real Canadian time to us! And make sure you don’t miss the fireworks too, your city is bound to have some, for those of you in Windsor Essex with us, June 25th is the day. We’ll see you there Canada!
